That's why I've avoided writing about it for so long. I know a lot of you will agree with me when I say I'm sick of hearing doctors and researchers tell me that I'll feel better if I just exercise. But I also know, based on the current research, they're probably right. The problem is when we're struggling to get the … [Read more...]

Using a weighted blanket for fibromyalgia

This article on using a weighted blanket for fibromyalgia was originally published on NationalPainReport.com. It is being republished here with permission from the editor.  Growing up in a drafty farmhouse, my mom would always add an extra blanket or two to my bed during winter. I remember feeling comforted by the weight of the blankets as I drifted off to sleep. Turns out, there's a physiological reason for why I felt so calm and secure under those blankets. The added weight caused my body to release serotonin, a feel-good hormone that promotes peace and well-being. As adults, we … [Read more...]

This is a quick product share (around 3 minutes) of how I've been using the (affiliate link) Electrolyte Stamina Power Pak to help combat fibro fog and fatigue. Vital Health Saunas review | How I’m using infrared sauna for fibromyalgia and Lyme

Heating pads, electric blankets and hot baths are top pain-fighting tools for many of us with fibromyalgia - myself included. A couple of months ago, I decided to increase my use of heat therapy and invest in an infrared sauna at the suggestion of my Lyme/fibromyalgia doctor. There are many benefits to using an infrared sauna, but I specifically purchased mine for pain relief and detoxification. My doctor explained that using an infrared sauna would help me to flush out toxins as the Lyme bacteria dies off during treatment, reducing my overall symptoms. There's some research indicating using … [Read more...]

5 fibromyalgia-related products I won’t be repurchasing

I've never met a fibromyalgia-related lotion, cream or spray that I didn't want to try.
