I was given a Vitalfield Energy Cell as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this Vitalfield Energy Cell review are my own and were in no way influenced by the company.
I’ve been fascinated by the idea of frequencies and their power to heal chronic disease since I watched a video years ago that showed Lyme bacteria exploding using a Rife machine. While conventional medicine certainly hasn’t embraced Rife technology as a treatment modality, our medical system has adopted the use of frequencies in other ways such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound and radiofrequency ablation.
There also are over-the-counter devices that utilize frequencies like TENS units and at-home ultrasound. Over the years, I’ve used some of these devices for chronic pain caused by Lyme disease and fibromyalgia with mixed results. Some work for me, and some don’t.
For the past month, I’ve been trying out a new frequency therapy called the Vitalfield Energy Cell. The Energy Cell is the result of more than 30 years of research and development by clinics in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

How the Vitalfield Energy Cell works
You guys know I usually veer away from trying to explain anything technical so I’m going to defer to Vitalfield for an understanding of how the Energy Cell works:
“The Vitalfield Energy Cell uses an advanced form of frequency therapy,” reads a Vitalfield press release. “Vitalfield’s Energy Cell is made possible by recent scientific breakthroughs, a patented EMF material that can retain and emit vital fields, and a composite cell material that stores the vital field therapy in a wearable, silicone patch that you place on your body with a non-irritating adhesive material.”
“The vital fields emitted by the [Energy Cell] influence cell activity primarily through water, which both conducts and absorbs frequencies (the human body is 70% water),” reads the website. “The [Energy Cell] targets stressed cells in localized areas of the body, and in the case of systemic, non-localized pain, can be addressed through key target areas in the body.”
The technology incorporated into the Energy Cell has been found beneficial for arthritis, headaches, osteoporosis, upper/lower back pain, tissue/bone injury, post-surgical pain, muscle sprain/tension and post-trauma pain. Some people also have found it helpful for shingles, phantom pain, neuronal pain, hormonal pain, migraines and multiple sclerosis.
My Vitalfield Energy Cell review
When I received my Energy Cell, I was surprised by how small and nondescript it is. It’s literally just a 1-inch by 2-inch piece of blue, flexible silicone.

My demo unit also came with instructions and three adhesive bandages for applying the Energy Cell to the body.

I knew I would need at least one bandage a day, so I purchased a roll of kinesiology tape to hold the device in place. Vitalfield sells its own bandages that you can use with the device, but I opted for the kinesiology tape to save time on shipping.
The instruction manuals were easy to understand. I did initially struggle a bit to understand whether the black magnet on the back of the cell should face toward or away from my body, but I think that was mostly due to my own brain fog and not an issue with how the instructions were written.
Overall, I love that using the Energy Cell is non-additive, drug free and causes no nasty side effects!
I love that it’s relatively affordable compared to other higher cost devices, too. At the time of this review, the Energy Cell costs $123. Since each cell lasts at least 6 months, that comes out to $20 per month. There are no additional costs other than the bandages used to hold the device in place.
It’s also easy to use. There’s nothing to figure out, no buttons to push, no app to download and use. You can wear the Energy Cell 24/7 – even in the shower (although that’s not ideal because it’ll water log your bandage…ewww…)!
For localized pain, you just adhere the Energy Cell to the body part that hurts using a bandage (left photo), and you’re done! For systemic pain relief, Vitalfield recommends different placement positions depending on if you’re having upper, middle or lower body pain (right photo).
I’ve worn the device fairly consistently for the past month, using it for both systemic and localized pain. Systemically, I tried placing it on the back of my neck as recommended for pain in the upper body, head, shoulders and arms. I also tried wearing it on the bottom of my foot for pain relief in my lower body and over my solar plexus for pain in my trunk.
There were times when I felt like the Vitalfield might be helping systemically with my chronic hip and leg pain. I didn’t notice any improvement in my daily headaches when wearing the device on my neck, but frankly, I didn’t expect to since my headaches are triggered by a buildup of fluid in my brain.
For localized pain, I tried it out on a bulged disc in my lower back and my achy knees. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice a benefit for more localized pain.

I’ve tried various devices over the years that use different types of frequency technology, and for lack of a better descriptor, it’s really a crap shoot on whether they work for me or not.
I know a lot of you have the same problem and are wary of spending money on items that might not work. The good news is Vitalfield has a 30-day, no-questions-asked return policy! If the Energy Cell doesn’t work, you can send it back.
I plan to continue to test out the Vitalfield over the coming weeks so I’m not giving up on it. I’ll update this post as necessary.
If it is indeed influencing cellular activity, then it stands to reason that it may take time to see improvement. The Energy Cell is so easy to use that it’s not a big deal to wear it every day to see what happens.
The Vitalfield website says it varies from person-to-person on how quickly it takes to notice results.
“The initial effects of pain reduction can occur after mere minutes, hours, or it could take a few days. Expect long-term calibration and allow 3-7 days to recognize the full impact of the Energy Cell,” reads the website.
How it worked for others
There were other bloggers within the Chronic Illness Bloggers network who also reviewed the Energy Cell, and many of them reported good results. That just proves what all of us with fibromyalgia and similar conditions know: What works for one of us may or may not work for others.
Below are a few of their reviews so you can read about others’ experiences in addition to my own:
Now it’s your turn! Have you utilized frequency-type devices as part of your treatment for fibromyalgia and/or Lyme disease? If so, share in the comments below!
This is a skam.
Hi, this isn’t exactly in the same category but when my leg pain keeps me up at night I’ve had great luck repeatedly with the HyperVolt massager. Available at REI. My sister gave it to me for Xmas and it’s turned out to be a wonderful gift for my fibromyalgia.
You said, “it is indeed influencing cellular activity.” how do you know? What changes in your body did you feel to know that was happening at a cellular level? Also, from everything I read EMF’s are not a good thing for your body?
The sentence was actually, “IF it is indeed influencing cellular activity….” I don’t know if it’s influencing our cells or not. That’s just what the company claims on their website. I shared my entire experience to date w/ the device in my review. The gist of that review was that wore the device for a month and didn’t notice much, but I’m going to continue to wear it for a while longer in case it takes more time to work in some people. I’ll update if I start to notice changes. The frequency they’re using is not the same as EMFs from our phones and routers.
