The Fay Farm Healing CBD Hemp Lotion and Warming CBD Muscle Rub Review

I received The Fay Farm Healing CBD Hemp Lotion and Warming CBD Muscle Rub to try in exchange for this review. I received no financial compensation. All opinions are my own.

If you read my recent “how I’m doing update,” then you know it’s been a trying three months for me. Despite making improvements in sleep, fatigue and gastrointestinal issues, I’ve still been experiencing quite a bit of fibromyalgia pain over the winter months.

My feet have caused the worst of it because they’re constantly tingling and burning now from neuropathy. It’s made it hard to get even basic things done like cleaning and grocery shopping.

My fibro friend Julie over at Counting My Spoons told me about The Fay Farm’s Healing CBD Hemp Lotion and how it helps quiet the neuropathy in her legs. I reached out to The Fay Farm, and they were happy to send me their Healing CBD Hemp Lotion and Warming CBD Muscle Rub on the agreement that if I liked them, I would review them on my blog. Well, I loved them!

Owned by Stacy Anderson and Michael Yocco, The Fay Farm specializes in natural body care products. From their five-acre farm on Whidbey Island, near Seattle, Washington, Stacy, Michael and their daughters raise Nubian goats for milk and grow herbs to use in their handmade, organic hemp-based products.

The Fay Farm’s products contain hemp oil, which is high in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and known for reducing inflammation. All products are free from parabens, alcohol, mineral oil and phthalates. In 2014, The Fay Farm began adding cannabidiol oil (CBD) to its popular Healing Hemp Lotion and Warming Muscle Rub to provide improved relief from pain, neuropathy, eczema, psoriasis and other conditions.

The Fay Farm Healing CBD Hemp Lotion review

The Fay Farm Healing CBD Hemp Lotion helps reduce my fibromyalgia pain and eases the neuropathy in my feet. Over the past six weeks, Fay Farm’s CBD lotion has become my go-to moisturizer. I typically shower every night before bed, and I use this as my nightly body lotion, taking care to apply it to any areas where I’m having increased pain, like my shoulders, arms and legs. I’ve also used it sans the shower when I just needed something to take the edge off of my fibro pain. If you have fibromyalgia, then you know nothing takes the pain away entirely, but the lotion does make it more tolerable.

I know this is going to sound corny, but I actually look forward to using the CBD lotion. There’s something about its light, herbal scent and overall creaminess that feels spa-like to me, and it’s a nice treat at the end of a long, painful day.

In the winter, I suffer from horribly dry skin. Fay Farm’s CBD lotion is thick and emollient enough that my legs didn’t develop snake scales this year. (Those of you with severely dry skin will know exactly what I’m talking about.)

I’ve had good results when using the lotion on my feet. I have nasty tingling, numbness, burning and pain in my feet from neuropathy. My new bedtime ritual is to combine Fay Farm’s lotion with an equal amount of magnesium lotion, slather that on the bottoms of my feet and then put on a pair of cushy, soft socks. I’ve used the products separately, and they both help on their own, but together they are awesome! (After hearing this, The Fay Farm is thinking about adding magnesium to its products for additional benefit.) The CBD lotion/magnesium lotion combo relieves the burning in my feet, so I can get to sleep. I also use this combo during the day when I need relief. Again, it doesn’t relieve the pain entirely – nothing does that – but it makes me feel more comfortable.

The Fay Farm Warming CBD Muscle Rub review

I use The Fay Farm Warming CBD Muscle Rub to help relieve the knots in my upper back. The Warming CBD Muscle Rub is good for fibromyalgia, arthritis, sore/stiff joints/muscles and other conditions, according to Fay Farm’s brochure and website.

I keep my tin of CBD Muscle Rub on my desk, so I can reach for it whenever I feel pain and tension in my shoulders, knees and back. It feels good to massage the rub into the knots in my upper back, and I like the overall cooling effect.

The rub has a light menthol scent that’s similar to other pain-relieving creams on the market but isn’t overpowering. The actual product is a semi-soft, brown ointment that’s easy to apply. A little goes a long way. I’ve been using mine off and on for more than a month now and still have more than half of the tin left.

A screw-on lid makes it easier to open and close the tin when your hands are cramping or are oily from applying the product. (If you’ve ever struggled to pull the lid off of a tin, then you’ll appreciate this feature.)

A little about CBD products

In recent years, CBD-rich products have received quite a bit of media attention as potential treatments for epilepsy, fibromyalgia, MS, neuropathy and other conditions. While the research is still bare, it’s becoming pretty common these days to hear fibromyalgia sufferers praise CBD’s benefits.

CBD is one of more than 85 cannabinoids that make up the cannabis/hemp plant. Most people are familiar with CBD’s close family member, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the cannabinoid that gives marijuana users a pleasant (at least to some people) high when they smoke it.

Unlike THC, CBD doesn’t have psychoactive qualities (i.e. it won’t make you high). CBD-rich products are an alternative for people who are seeking the medicinal benefits of cannabis, but who gave up smoking pot when they graduated college (or never used it in the first place).

The CBD contained within Fay Farm’s products comes from hemp. Based on my prior interviews with the Drug Enforcement Administration, hemp CBD body care products are legal in the U.S.

Hi Donna, I tried the Serenity lotion on my jaw ( TMJ),elbows, shoulders, neck & feet. Surprisingly, it worked! Although pain relief is not 100% gone, it has made an undeniable difference! My worse issue is getting zingers that would shoot out my toes at night which would cause difficulty going & staying asleep. I applied on my feet before bed and too my amazement, I had relief! The lotion helped me go to sleep much sooner too! As well, it gave me comfort in other areas that were distressing. My next try will be Rejuvenation for my RA pain. I am looking forward to my continued relationship with Fay Farm products. At the same time, I appreciate your blog to help us navigate through the difficulty of fibro & pain. Thank you so much!

I’m so glad it’s helping! I am addicted to Serenity! It’s my favorite part of my bedtime routine!

  3. Does anyone know if there is something like this available in Canada?

    • Donna Gregory/FedUpwithFatigue.com says

Fay Farm may ship to Canada. You may want to drop them an email through their website and ask.

  4. Dianne Mayo says

I just got my lotion and muscle rub today along with a tin of the salve too. A very dear friend went beyond and ordered them for me as I can’t afford them right now. Its been cold and rainy and yuck here for several days and I have been overly dependant on pain meds to barely function. I am pleased to say that I was able to get enough relief from the lotion and rub to only need 1pain pill today instead of 2-3 that I’ve needed the last few days. I also have horrible neuropathy in my feed and ankles due to a bout of vasculitis and this is the best its been in 2 years. I’m thinking about magnesium lotion. I take oral magnesium because of heart issues but am wondering how well I am absorbing it with my IBS. Thank you for reviewing theses products. Maine has legalized medical marijuana and I’m in a discussion with my doctor about it.

    • Donna Gregory/FedUpwithFatigue.com says

Hi Dianne, I’m so happy to hear the Fay Farm products are helping you! And I know Fay Farm’s owners will be happy to read your comment as well. They are a real blessing to those of us who suffer from chronic pain.

  5. Nancy Cordero says

I’m wondering if you use hemp lotion if its shows up in bloodwork?

    • Donna Gregory/FedUpwithFatigue.com says

No, it doesn’t contain THC, which is what drug tests look for.

  6. I also have pains of burning, tingling, and sharp pains in my feet, so this is a good product for me to try. I also get the burning sensations across my neck/shoulders area. The neuropathy in my legs are terrible, and any sort of relief would be great. I also take magnesium pills, so I could see how combining that lotion with this lotion would alleviate pain.

  7. Renny Pomeroy says

I use CBD high medical marijuana in oil form. I have a caregiver who grows the strain and processes the herb with coconut oil. We put the oil (or butter as some like to call it) into capsules that I can carry with me. I got a certain amount of my life back since starting this treatment. I do not get high, I just get relief. I have been taking this for almost a year now. At first I had memory issues like back in the day when I used to smoke it. I did not want to go back to those days. But. ..after a few months those memory issues resolved. I do still have fibro fog however. I really want to try this CBD lotion and see if it helps the burning pain in my legs and arms. God bless!

    • Donna Gregory/FedUpwithFatigue.com says

Hi Renny, so glad you’ve found some relief through the CBD-rich cannabis strains. I will probably be applying for my medical marijuana license later this year and am really interested in trying those strains to see if it helps w/ fibro pain. I keep hearing over and over how much it helps people. It’s very promising. Makes me hopeful.

Thank you for the review, I just put in my own order.

    • Donna Gregory/FedUpwithFatigue.com says

I hope you like it! I’d love to hear what you think of it once you try it.

      • Cooper'sMum says

I’m really impressed with how quickly I got my order. I ordered the warming rub and the lotion and I will confess I got the smallest size possible, total order under $30 with free shipping.

I had my sweet hubs rub some on my shoulder that is a non stop pain ride and have gotten a bit of relief, I’m sure I’ll have more feedback in a couple of days. I really just wanted to express how good their customer service is.

        • Donna Gregory/FedUpwithFatigue.com says

I’m glad to hear the lotion and rub are helping you. The Fay Farm seems to be a wonderful company. Like you, I got my order w/in a couple of days. I’m really enjoying their products. I understand they have more new products in development and can’t wait to try those too.

          • Cooper'sMum says

Update since my purchase. I just ordered 3 oz of the CBD muscle rub (largest size available), basically a reorder. The CBD muscle rub works really, really well for me. The lotion not so much.

Couple things to note, to purchase CBD products you MUST email or call “The Fay Farm”, these products have been removed from their site. I’m assuming because legalities. I forgot to reference Fed up W/Fatigue to get the 10% off and free shipping, but who knows it could have been a one time deal.

Michael at The Fay Farm remembered my first order and has already sent the second order out to me.

For me the muscle rub has become a true blessing. Once I get my reorder I’m going to try it on my knees, I’ve been using it on my shoulders and neck. Awesome stuff!
