From the article: “The authors really lay it on when they state that despite all the progress made in understanding the neuroscience of pain, ‘we are yet at the beginning’ with [fibromyalgia]. ‘Much greater insights will be necessary before a truly rational and effective pharmacological solution for fibromyalgia (and similar conditions) will be at hand.’”

ScienceDirect: Infected Ixodes ricinus ticks are attracted by electromagnetic radiation of 900 MHz

A study out of Poland shows that certain ticks are drawn to electromagnetic radiation given off by smartphones and other electronic devices.

Pain News Network: UK study finds weather can worsen chronic pain

From the article: “For 15 months, researchers at the University [of] Manchester collected data from over 10,500 UK residents, who recorded their daily pain levels on a smartphone app. …The study found a modest association between weather and pain, with people more likely to feel pain on days with low barometric pressure – and the wet and windy weather that usually comes with it.”

    Hi Donna, It’s been awhile since I’ve sent a note to you.
    How have you been through this COVID 19 season?! I hope you are well and that this ill me a much healthier year for you!
    RE: the ‘weather’ segment…I suffer with Chronic Intractable Spine related Pain issues (several failed surgeries, may treatments etc etc) and Lupus (of which I was told was FM for many years until 2018.
    I can ‘always’ tell when a storm is coming…my lumbar feels like it is going to pop open! But overall I am most effected with both Chronic illnesses mostly in the hot/humid summer months. I live in Florida sooo those months are very long for me! It’s already happening to my body and it’s only May!
    It truly is amazing how much worse I am in summertime.Boo hoo!
    My body loves winter time and the cold!
    Thank you for the Health Docuseries link…I signed up to watch that. I’ve been getting more and more into alternative healing and the Mind/Body connection. Keep strong and keep safe. Hugs, Maureen

      Hey Maureen, I’m so glad to hear from you and thank you for checking on me! I hope you and your family are doing ok w/ all of this pandemic craziness going on. Honestly, COVID hasn’t really changed much in my life other than my hubby has been home from work quite a bit. I was already a big homebody so it hasn’t been that much of a challenge for me. Isn’t it funny how we all seem to have our own triggers? I’m the exact opposite of you … I feel much, much better during the summer. I wish it would stay warm all year long! I dread winter every year b/c the cold gets into my bones and makes me hurt all over. That docuseries looks really good! I’m looking forward to watching it, too!
