MedicalXpress.com: New data align with EULAR recommendations for fibromyalgia management
From the article: “At seven years follow up, adjusted results showed that fibromyalgia cases had a higher number of hospital courses, and had undergone more invasive procedures; however, differences concerning number of diagnoses between groups were small. The study also found that the burden to the secondary health care system is significant. Neurologists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, pain-specialists, psychiatrists, and abdominal surgeons were all consulted more often by people with fibromyalgia compared to those without.”

Pain News Network: FDA Head Wants New Regulations for Kratom and CBD
From the article: “The head of the Food and Drug Administration says his agency will need new authority from Congress to regulate both kratom and cannabidiol (CBD), two natural substances used by millions of Americans to self-treat their pain and other medical conditions. FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf testified on Thursday before a House Appropriations subcommittee, where he was asked why the agency was slow in developing new regulations for CBD and why it remained opposed to the use of kratom. Califf said new regulatory pathways were needed for both substances because they fall between the cracks of existing law that gives the FDA broad authority to regulate food and drugs.”

Product of the Week…
Through June 19, HealthyLine is offering 20% off of its Heated PEMF gemstone infrared chair mat, which combines hot stone, far infrared, negative ion and PEMF therapies into one mat that can be used flat or in a chair.
The Father’s Day sale also includes buy one, get one free offers on a couple of HealthyLine’s infrared vests and several styles of magnetic bracelets.

A description of the chair mat from HealthyLine’s website: “With a predetermined bend in the middle, the TAO Chair Mat sits upright easily in 99% of chair types. We have taken 4-natural therapies (FIR, negative ions, PEMF, hot stone) and packed them into this smaller model. You get the same wellness-defining benefits in a more focused and specific approach.
“Sitting on the TAO Chair Mat throughout the day is an efficient way to counteract the development of [back] pain and decrease any aches that currently exist. Daily exposure to PEMF can perform wonders for your physical and mental well-being. Consistently pressing your body against heated gemstones loosens tense muscles and relieves built-up tension in your body.
“For those with driving jobs, an adapter can be purchased to make the TAO Chair useable with the lighter port of your vehicle. Use it while you commute to your job, on long road trips, or while operating a commercial vehicle to prevent the development of stiffness and pain. Everyone can improve their relaxation each day and focus the effects of the TAO Chair Mat on the area of the body that tends to need it the most.”
If the chair mat isn’t for you, HealthyLine offers 10% off + free shipping on many of its other products by entering the code fwf10 at checkout.
I reviewed one of HealthyLine’s infrared mats a few years ago. It’s the same concept as the chair mat… just a different model. You can read that review here!
