Philadelphia Inquirer: Trump administration proposes Social Security rule changes that could cut off thousands of disabled recipients

This is an extremely important article to read if you’re receiving disability benefits in the U.S.! Public comment is being solicited for the next few days, and I’m assuming people should be contacting their legislators as well.

From the article: “The proposed rule change would create a fourth category: ‘Medical Improvement Likely,’ which would mandate disability reviews every two years, creating an additional 2.6 million reviews over the first 10-year period.”

The Telegraph: Pet owners at increased risk as deadly tick-borne disease spreads throughout Asia

From the article: “The new virus – severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) – is spread by tick bites and was first identified by Chinese researchers eight years ago. It has a death rate of 30 percent, similar to diseases such as Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever, classified by the World Health Organization as having ‘epidemic potential.'”

And an extra…

Pain News Network: Cannabis cuts headache and migraine pain in half

From the article: “Cuttler and her colleagues found that self-reported headache severity fell by 47.3 percent and migraine severity declined by 49.6 percent. Cannabis concentrates, such as cannabis oil, produced a larger reduction in headache severity than cannabis flower.”

I am just wondering if the BCG vaccine trial has actually started. I paid the $800 and took the blood test with the specific intention of being enrolled in the trial, because only people who had had this blood test were eligible. I tried to email the doctor involved, Denise Faustman, and clicked on the link in your article above regarding this trial, however the link is not working. Could you confirm that this trial has definitely started.

  2. Hello, I want to apologize for my last post reply. I was in severe pain. I got a bit off topic.
I decided to pull out my copies of my Social Security Disability Update Forms.
Since I keep copies of important papers, I have some dated 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017.
    All before Trump was President.
The first question that is asked is “ have you worked for someone.”
    2) Have you attended a work training program?
    3) My doctor and I have not discussed whether I can work. ; My doctor told me I cannot work. ; My doctor told me I can work.
*** This is important. Many doctors are willing to say you cannot work, just not on THIS form.
    4) Place an X in one box that describes your health; Better, Same, Worse
    5) You list of Diagnosis
    6) Reasons for Hospital and Dates
    7) Remarks: To further answer 1-6

I’m tired of President Trump being blamed for everything. Is it possible he is trying to weed out those who can work, who choose not to, to milk the system?
However, I am not speaking to those in true pain and disability. Please understand that.
    Getting benefits is hard enough.

  3. I have been disabled since May 1997 for DDD spine, and chronic migraine. The fibromyalgia feel into place post 3 Cervical spine fusions and getting hit constantly by my stepdaughter from my last ex husband. I left. I had another Cervical Spine Surgery. A C Mobi Disc Implant. It has exerbated my Fibro. I am 60. I have had to complete these forms every 2 years since 1997. I am due to complete them again.
I go to pain management monthly. I pee test monthly. I get spine injections every 6 months. I have dairy migraines. I cannot work. My latest fibro flare kept me in bed 1 week. My entire spine was on fire. I forgot to mention I have 3 blown Lumbar discs hence the injections. I have numbness in my hands and feet. Tingling in my legs. I live alone now. My son, daughter in law, and grandchildren live 20 minutes from me with their silly dog. They are my hearts. I am blessed by them. I have lost friends. The SSA system pays my income. I am after 10 years in housing. I finally have a bedroom of my own after living in a studio apt that took more than half my income. I am very very upset that people have to fight so hard to put a roof over their head, food in their mouth, and fight for medication to try to ease their pain. I give you permission to use my testimony if it will help even one person get the help they need. As I am typing this on my cell phone in tears. God Bless You All. Gentle Hugs and Love. 💜🌺
